Écomusée du fier monde, Free visit of the museum on the 1st Sunday of the month

The Écomusée du fier monde is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the industrial and working-class history of Montreal’s Centre-Sud neighbourhood.

The museum is housed in a former public bathhouse, which was built in 1927 and is itself a historical landmark. It was established in 1996 as a community-driven initiative to preserve the heritage and collective memory of the neighbourhood. The Écomusée du fier monde serves as a platform for local residents to share their stories, experiences, and cultural traditions.

The museum’s permanent exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the industrial and social history of the Centre-Sud neighbourhood, highlighting the lives and struggles of workers and immigrants.
