Runway Rivers, a free public art installation in North York

1 min read

Runway Rivers turns YZD’s concrete canvas into a living map of memory, inviting you to experience the intersection of past, present, and future in an entirely new way.

This playful public art installation lets you canoe along the paths of ancient rivers that once shaped these lands, bridging Toronto’s past, present, and future.

Part of Luminato Festival’s 2025 season, Runway Rivers invites you to physically engage with a part of Toronto’s environmental history while enjoying the thrill of navigating painted pathways on the tarmac.

Join artist John Notten in this dynamic, hands-on exploration of Toronto’s forgotten rivers. Canoe through the past—discover the history beneath your feet.
