The Museum was created in 1968 by the Willoughby Historical Society as an expression of pride felt by the community during the festivities of Canada’s centennial of confederation. The Museum, located in the former School Section #2 – Willoughby building, is now owned by the City of Niagara Falls and operated by the City of Niagara Falls Board of Museums. The Township of Willoughby and Village of Chippawa both interpreted by the Museum have since been amalgamated into the City of Niagara Falls.
